Teun de Nooijer provisionally excluded from the Dutch national team

Both Teun de Nooijer as Taeke Taekema will not join the Dutch national team in the training sessions that are planned for January and February in Spain and Australia. National coach Paul van Ass made this 'painfull and difficult' decision in the interest of the team. "Space must be created for other, younger players in order to let them grow and get better". In particular the career of Teun de Nooijer is legendary. Three times he was named best player of the world, and after the Champions Trophy in december he was selected for the fifth time in the FIH All Stars Team. If he will be excluded from the Olympics as well is still unsure as he might still be selected for the team that will represent The Netherlands in Londen.
