Jamie Dwyer (2x Best Player of the World, Olympic gold & bronze, winner EHL) is WITH US! During five camps he will show his tricks and teach you how to play Aussie Style Hockey, but he will have his very own Boot Camp as well! We spoke to him.

Why did you come to Holland?
I wanted to experience life outside Australia and also to play some top quality but different hockey.

Is the Dutch hockey very different from Australian Hockey?
The hockey in Holland is different to hockey in Australia. In Holland its more man on man marking where in Australia its more zonal defense. In attack its also different with Holland using depth and us Aussies concerntrating on width.

What do you miss most, when staying in Holland?
I miss my family most but I also miss the beautiful Australian beaches and the lifestyle.

Do you think the Dutch are relaxed enough?
I think the Dutch are very nice people. They are relaxed but not as relexed as Australians, but I'm not sure if anyone is relaxed as us.

Would you consider growing old in Holland?
I think I will spend a few more years in Holland but I would like to grow old in Australia. I like being outdoors playing golf and going to the beach and the lifestyle in Australia. Holland would be my second favourite place to grow old though.

Would you consider taking a Dutch girlfriend?
I have a Dutch wife. So yes I have considered it and I took it a step further.

What makes you the Best Player in the World?
My basic skills are good. I'm also good at eliminating opponents one on one and I also score goals. I also practise very hard to make myself better everyday.

What are you looking forward to in the SportWays hockey camps?
I'm really looking forward to the SportWays Camps, the children will learn a wide range of skills, eliminating, Aussie style goalshooting, tackling and lots more. It will also be lots of fun.
